It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine -REM

2012 movie Pictures, Images and Photos

Although, 2012 is not my kind of movie, I couldn't help my curiosity about this 2012 theory or my love for John Cusack. I have to say it didn’t make a 2012 believer out of me but I surely enjoyed the graphics and imagination of Hollywood. If indeed this is what our “End of Days” have in store for us, we need to pray or become European billionaires!!! In my opinion the storyline was weak (as expected) but My Johnny delivered a thrilling and entertaining role. Fun to watch but not worth waiting in line for 3 hours on opening night!!
I had the pleasure of watching this movie with my sister and her husband. We had every intention of watching a late movie but we didn’t anticipate a sold out show!! Our planned 10pm show turned into a bloodshot 12:30am bust. We were early, which only made our wait a total of 3 HOURS! ::Ugh:: I was exhausted before the show even started. Luckily, the movie had some eye opening scenes that kept me awake. To help pass the time, we went fast food hoping but when our gluttony had reached its limit, we retreated back to the theater on 34Th street. The actual waiting on line was the worst part. I squirmed for coffee and was highly fidgety, trying to ignoring the constant making out of about 4 couples as we waited on a tremendous line. Just to let you know it was way passed my bedtime and not my idea of fun by any stretch of the imagination!!I finally reached my bed at 5 o'clock this morning! Lol All in good fun and for the love of movies!

Despite the craziness of our night, all in all, if you enjoy apocalyptic disasters this is one to catch on the big screen!!!

What's your dreams?

I love movies simply because I love stories. Growing up my father always told me stories and although I couldn't always identify with all of them, I loved all of them because I learned more about him. They where like a portal to a different time- the 60's, 70's and so on... I love movies mostly for the messages they send, just like a great book, or great lyrics, what I like best about movies are their scripts.

Today I watched Pretty woman as I cleaned my room. I've seen some of my movies so many times I no longer need to actually watch them to know exactly what is happening on the screen. Some people clean to music...I clean to movies!

Anyway, what really gets me about this movie is not so much the Cinderella story between Edward and Vivian but Kit, Vivian's roommate, friend and "co-worker". Kit is a prostitute with no ambition for change in her life. I think about so many people that I know who are just like Kit, all they see are momentary fixes. They have no long term plans, no dreams or goals. I'll never understand people who don't dream at all, who don‘t want better for themselves. In the end of the movie there is a man walking in the street saying, "Welcome to Hollywood! What's your dream? Everybody comes here; this is Hollywood, land of dreams. Some dreams come true, some don't; but keep on dreamin' - this is Hollywood. Always time to dream, so keep on dreamin'."

I may not live in Hollywood but dreaming is not something I lack. It’s never too late to make changes in your life. I hope you have big dreams and that some how your finding a way to make them a reality. There is a big world out there with so much to offer!!
